James Clear: happiness is the absence of desire
You get what you want and you’re happy, and you think the thing you got was what made you happy.
Another way to look at it, says Clear: what made you happy was simply that you stopped wanting something else.
If you don’t have a desire to change your current state, then by definition you’re happy — you’re content with where you’re currently at.
